About Hospital
Overview of Vijaya Group of Hospital
Shri. B. Nagi Reddi, (Founder, Vijaya Medical & Educational Trust)
From being the recipient of the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his invaluable services to the Indian film industry. From his humble beginnings in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, he achieved success in every sphere of his life. Despite his numerous accolades, his true desire was to provide “quality medical service at affordable rates to the society”.
His vision led to the establishment of Vijaya Hospital in 1972 which was one of the first multi- speciality hospitals in Chennai. With initial bed strength of 30, the hospital has now grown over 750 beds under the banner of Vijaya Medical and Educational Trust (VMET). The Trust encompasses Vijaya Hospital (VH), Vijaya Health Centre (VHC), Vijaya Heart Foundation (VHF) and Vijaya Eye Foundation.

- The blood collected from donors is split into various components – packed red cells, fresh frozen plasma, cryo depleted plasma, platelet concentrate, single donor platelets, and cryo-precipitate of all the blood groups is on the shelf. The donor bleeding hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
- Vijaya Medical & Educational Trust has Modular Rectangular Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber.
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a well-established treatment for decompression sickness, a potential risk of scuba diving. Other conditions treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy include:
- Serious infections.
- Bubbles of air in blood vessels.
- Wounds that may not heal because of diabetes or radiation injury.
- In a hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, the air pressure is increased 2 to 3 times higher than normal air pressure. Under these conditions, your lungs can gather much more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure.
- This extra oxygen helps fight bacteria. It also triggers the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing.
